for this shoot, i used 20 meters of black textile. designed and custom made her entire attire.

the haphazard of the length and weight of the textile underwater required to include a safety diver during the photoshoot with us.

underwater photography requires a large amount of preparation and anticipation.

sea and ocean are a wild element and requires extra caution when planning and shooting.

the choice of all my materials are also thoroughly thought to preserve the nature around.

all my photographs are taken while breath holding myself as well. no scuba gears involved. it is all about us and our relationship to our bodies and the water.

my collaboration with tatiana unfolded organically. what began as a conversation evolved into a deeper exchange about life, experience, and identity, especially as a black woman.

my initial idea — rooted in the embodiment of a specific energy — shifted as our dialogue opened onto questions of representation, presence, and visibility.

it became clear that this work needed to expand. Tatiana was not a model chosen to embody a vision — she was the vision.

the project transformed accordingly.

new sketches emerged. new direction took shape. what mattered most was that she felt seen — not symbolized, not abstracted, but recognized.

when the images and accompanying words came together, that recognition was affirmed.

seen. heard. acknowledged.
