Medusa

Medusa

When we stand for ourselves,
against violence done to one,

when we raise our voices in silent rooms,
some will name us monsters,
others will not.

And that is part of the dual world we live in.

Each moment, we choose who we wish to be.
And in that choice,
we become sovereign again.

Medusa’s story was never about a monster.

It was always about a woman burned for a sea god’s sin.
A pawn in an ancient game,
where the Fates never meant for her to win.

Her snakes kept her safe from wandering eyes —
from those who came reaching for
her life,
her body,
her power.

She now holds a garden of stone,
statues raised in silent tribute to their greed.

Medusa’s story was about a priestess.
A goddess.
A maiden who once carried a heart of gold.
